Wind and rain for the day

Hurricane Nate made landfall on the Mississippi Gulf Coast as a cat 1 hurricane very late last night/early this morning. The storm has now been downgraded to a tropical depression and (at noon) is located just north of Tuscaloosa, Al. The remnants of Nate will make their way toward Crossville as the day goes along and should be here by this evening. A wind advisory is in effect for this afternoon and afternoon as winds could gusts to 30mph. We should see 1-2″ of rain, as well.  Today is an indoor day!

Off and on rain and storms continue for Monday and Tuesday before better weather returns for the plateau by the middle and end of next week.

Incidentally, Hurricane Nate moved right over the top of Keesler Air Force base in Mississippi last night, which is the home of the Hurricane Hunters. Talk about the storm coming to you guys for a change! ha

Nate became the fourth hurricane in six weeks to make landfall in the US.
