Sunshine is on the way!

Hopefully these morning clouds won’t be stubborn about moving out today (hopefully!). You can always count on this plateau to delay clearing. I’m seeing some breaks in the clouds between here and Nashville on satellite and those breaks should continue to move east, giving us some sunshine by the afternoon.  Temps will stay warm from today right on through Sunday, with highs climbing into the low 80s and overnight lows around 60. Mostly sunny skies will prevail through Saturday. On Sunday, another cold front approaches and that could set off an isolated shr or storm, with better rain chances Sunday night as the front moves through. That front will FINALLY bring in October-like weather, with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s next week. Still, that’s average for this time of year, but it will feel much colder after all this warm, humid weather we’ll have this week.

The big headline in weather news again today is the fire situation in California. I’m not sure how much worse this situation can get but I’m afraid we’re going to find out.  At least 17 people have died now and hundreds and hundreds of homes and businesses have been destroyed.  Today, red flag warnings are in effect for northern California once again. A red flag warning is issued when fire conditions are too favorable for any burning outside. I’ve attached some images below that have been published over the past couple of days. After seeing this (not to mention the areas still recovering from hurricanes), it kinda makes you feel a bit lousy about complaining about anything here….
