Good news

The clouds and showers that are just off to our west, and isolated across the plateau, have really helped to diminish our severe weather chances for tonight, folks. That’s the good news, for sure. Plus, big storms to our south in Alabama are really going to rob any storm we have of its energy, likely saving us from a severe weather outbreak.

The bad news is that we’ll be dodging some showers this afternoon. Nothing will be severe and we’ll be hard pressed to even find some lightning. These are remnants of the severe weather outbreak that hit the southern Plains yesterday. These remnants have done a decent job holding together, giving some of us some showers this afternoon. But, they’re saving us from a severe weather outbreak. If we could have gotten sun and warmer temps today, the storms tonight would have been quite intense.

You all have a great Saturday. The Storm Prediction Center has dropped all of us out of the slight risk, but they left us in the marginal risk (level 1 out of 5). So, I’ll keep an eye on things.
