I’ve been keeping an eye on the storms and they have been packing a punch. The good news is that they seem to be losing some steam and turning into heavy rain makers. They also have a lot of lightning. They are slowly sagging southward. I’ve wondered if they’ll make farther south than Crossville. That remains to be seen.

I think the bigger news is how this activity will affect our atmosphere for tonight. A severe wx outbreak is currently evolving over Missouri and the Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has just really enhanced their chances of big storms this evening. That activity will likely become a squall line and race into TN tonight. Therefore, the SPC has upgraded nearly all of TN to the slight risk for severe storms for late tonight. If I had to guess a time for them to be here I’d say sometime between midnight and 3:00 a.m.

I will update all of this on the blog later this evening (around 9:00 p.m.).
