Florence update

Florence is moving slowly to the northwest at 10 mph. The Outer Banks are currently getting hit hard and there have already been a few tornado warnings issued. The maximum sustained winds are holding at 105 mph.

Notice the track takes the storm into East Tn. This track would keep us on the backside of the system, which is the better side to be on. I can’t imagine how much rain the mountains are going to get. As of now, it looks like we could pick up around 3/4″ of rain here on the plateau Monday-Tuesday, along with some breezy winds of 20 mph.

Radar shows incredible amounts of rainfall moving in.

My talk at the Rotary Club during lunch today went very well! That was a great opportunity and I’m so glad I was able to be a part of that.

I also want to briefly mention that if you aren’t doing anything Saturday from 11:30-1:30 come on out to the Mayland Senior Center. I’m hosting a fundraiser for the Center (they need money). The flier is attached below. Please help me spread the word.
