Main threats
Today-Tuesday: Just be mindful of any lightning in any storms
Summary
We’ll have some scattered showers and storms around today. It won’t be a washout, by any means. We will continue a chance of storms on Tuesday, before things dry out again for the rest of the week.
We still can’t rule out an isolated storm Wednesday-Friday, but those chances look quiet slim at this point.
Tropics
We just have Leslie spinning about in the open Atlantic. She will become a hurricane but she is no threat to land.
Records
This was a stormy day in 1752 for the Carolinas (yeah, this one was a while back!). The second severe hurricane in two weeks hit that area. The Onslow County courhouse was completely destroyed, along with all the town’s records. Beacon Island, once located off the coast of the Carolinas, completely disappeared.
News
The blog is delayed today due to my grandmother being very sick. Please keep her and all of us in your prayers, etc. Also, my dad is now very sick and I’ll be taking him to the doctor, possibly followed by the ER, this afternoon. He’s severely diabetic and we’re having issues that are concerning.
You all have a great day and keep those of us who aren’t close to your hearts.
