I just wanted to give a quick update on the winter weather situation. I’ll give a another update later this evening, after more new data has come in.
The forecast is on track for tonight, with mostly cloudy skies and light snow/sleet possible by daybreak. We could see some light accumulation of wintry stuff by mid-morning-noon Saturday. Be careful if you’re out driving.
Saturday night continues to look like a mix of all precip types. I think the best chance of accumulation will be across northern Fentress and northern Scott Counties on the plateau. The rest of us could certainly see light accumulations of a wintry mix, with the greatest impact being to travel.
Anything we get Saturday will melt during the daytime hours of Sunday, before another round of light snow moves in Sunday night. That’s when we could pick up some more light accumulation.
I’ll have another update later on this evening.
