Get out and enjoy this beautiful spring weather! It’s almost the perfect day for being outside. Winds are nearly calm, the sun is shining, and it’s warm and dry! What more could you ask for?
Clouds increase tomorrow and we could even see some sprinkles in the late afternoon. Most of the showers should hold off until the overnight hours. Those showers will continue on Monday, with some rumbles of thunder. We should see around an inch of rain from this system.
Clouds may be slow to leave us on Tuesday and may even drop some showers/sprinkles that morning. The weather turns nice again for Wednesday. Can you tell spring is here?
The weather may go downhill again just in time for next weekend. Again, make sure you get out today!

On this day in 1893 a tornado struck the state penitentiary in Nashville, destroying half the prison. The 500 convicts held there had just been moved to the mess hall and escaped uninjured.
Easter was on this day in 1913. It was an Easter that the folks of Omaha, Nebraska would never forget. A violent tornado tore through the city, leaving a 12-mile long path of destruction that was two blocks wide. Ninety-four people lost their lives.
In 2007, a tornado struck Clovis, New Mexico and destroyed about 100 homes and businesses. Thirteen tornadoes struck that region on this day. One of the tornadoes picked up a trailer home and threw it through a bowling alley. There was no word on whether or not that was a strike or a spare…… 😮

What to look for in the night sky tonight
Moonrise is at 10:04 pm, so you have until then to look at the stars. It looks like some clouds may interfere with that view, though, so that may be an issue.
I still think we may be able to see the Zodiac light in the southwest sky. Look that direction about a half hour after sunset. I found this on Space.com, “For about half an hour after dusk during the two week period preceding the new moon on April 5, look west-southwest for a broad wedge of faint light rising from the horizon and centered on the ecliptic (green line). This is the zodiacal light — reflected sunlight from interplanetary particles concentrated in the plane of the solar system. Try to observe from a location without light pollution, and don’t confuse the zodiacal light with the brighter Milky Way to the northwest.”

I hope you all were able to get out and see the International Space Station as it flew over last evening! That’s always quite the sight. Then that big beautiful moonrise. What a night for celestial viewing! That moonrise may be impressive again tonight.
