The temp has hit 80 degrees here at weatherTAP as of 2:19 p.m. That makes this our first 80-degree temperature reading this spring here at the office in downtown.
This is quite the warm-up from our 41-degree low this morning at 6:03. You can blame the dry air for that big warm up. Our humidity is a bone dry, desert-like 23%. Dry air heats up and cools off quickly. That’s why deserts are so hot in the afternoon but can frost at night.
The nice weather will continue for tomorrow. Today, models have continued to trend drier for Wednesday and we’ll be lucky to see any precip at all during the daylight hours (~20% chance).
Thursday still looks like a pretty good chance for showers and a rumble of thunder. In fact, that is our best chance of rain for the week, as it looks right now.
We are now at 80.4 degrees but we should be at or near our maximum temp for the day.
You all have a nice afternoon and evening!
