I’ve been watching a line of strong to severe storms from southern Middle TN into Alabama. The main batch of storms is riding along the TN and AL border. The good news is that this activity will weaken as it moves east. The strongest storms will stay away from the plateau.
Never the less, we can’t rule out a strong storm or two but the main threat will come from heavy rainfall later this afternoon and evening. Expect a very wet commute home. Allow yourself extra time and watch for ponding of water on the roadways.
The leading edge of the rain is just coming into Putnam County and should be covering the plateau within the next 1 to 2 hours.
