Afternoon update on storms

It continues to look like most of our storms today will stay behaved. I still can’t rule out a strong storm or two, but widespread severe weather is certainly not expected. At the 11:30 a.m. update the Storm Prediction Center chose to leave the plateau in the marginal risk. No upgrade was seen as being necessary. All this cloud cover and isolated shower activity is really keeping things stable. That’s good news!

Below is a look at the current radar, showing scattered showers around the Southeast. All activity is moving northeast. There have been some t-storms developing in Alabama over the past hour, and some of those should move up our way later on. It’s a bit more warm and unstable down there, with temps near 80 right now. We’re just 70 here in Crossville at this hour.
