I continue to monitor this complex of t-storms that has been making it’s way across the Midwest all day. Now, the Storm Prediction Center has issued a severe t-storm watch for portions of Middle TN that includes the Nashville area until 10:00 p.m. This does not include the plateau at this time. There is talk of an extension of that watch to include us as the evening wears on.
I still think we are ok through 9:00 pm. The storms should arrive after that time but it’s unclear how soon or later after that. Just make sure you’ve wrapped up any outdoor plans, etc by 9:00 and you should be fine.
The storms have maintained their intensity today and will likely do so for several more hours. Hopefully, they will weaken as they near the plateau (fingers crossed).
Pictured below is the current position of our warm front and the severe t-storm watch (purple-shaded counties).
I’ll be monitoring this all evening, even as I pack for my rocket launch trip. I think this weather is Ma Nature’s way of keeping me distracted from my excitement about the launch. ha
