The Storm Prediction Center has now upgraded portions of Middle TN to an enhanced risk for severe storms. They have also upgraded the entire plateau from a marginal risk to a slight risk. This does not mean we will see severe wx this evening, but it means our odds of seeing that are increasing rather than decreasing.
As you can see on weatherTAP’s RadarLab National, that complex of storms in the Midwest is maintaining strength and producing lots of wind damage. Right now, I’m thinking these could arrive between 6-9:00 pm this evening. Stay tuned, as that timing could change.
There are indications that this complex will weaken as it reaches us, but that part of the forecast is too complicated to count on at this time. I’ll keep you posted!
