So, I just confirmed that Buzz Aldrin will be at the Space and Rocket Center tomorrow in Huntsville.
Yeah, who needs sleep, right? As if I wasn’t going to have a hard enough time sleeping.
If I get a picture with him you will see it as my Facebook profile for the next 20 years. lol
In all seriousness, I hope you will take a moment to reflect on what we accomplished 50 years ago, with the crudest of technology. This was the last night before the Apollo 11 would lift off, en route to a planetary body that man had never visited. For the first time in human history, another human would leave earth and walk on another planetary body. For the first time in human history, humans would gaze at the earth from our moon. FROM the moon! What an experience!
Tomorrow is a big day, y’all. I hope you think about that and beam with pride knowing that the United States of America put the first footsteps on the surface of the moon.
But first, we had to launch. We’ll remember that tomorrow!
On Saturday, we’ll remember the miraculous landing.
Buzz Aldrin is going to be in the same place I’m in tomorrow!!!!!!!
Sorry, I had to get that out there one more time…. lol
