A satellite image of good news

First of all, my talk with the 47 middle school STEM girls at Roane State went VERY well this morning! I really enjoyed sharing my passion for science, weather, and NASA with those ladies. Here’s hoping I recruited some future lady scientists!

As for the water vapor satellite image, notice the dark brown colors across Tennessee. That is drier air moving in from the north! Yes, that is our change in air mass that will bring crisp, cool nights and pleasant afternoons for the rest of the week. What a nice relief.

The other item of interest is the mass of cloud cover east of the Florida peninsula. That was Tropical Depression Three, but it has now dissipated. RIP, TD3!
