5:45 Update

The strongest storms are located across southwestern Cumberland County. The NWS has stated that those storms could go severe as they move east.

As for the rest of us, we’re dealing with gusty winds and lots of rumbles of thunder. I just had a gust here in Rinnie of about 25 mph.

The severe t-storm watch remains in effect until 9:00, but I imagine that will be cancelled an hour or two earlier than that. I’ll keep you posted.

You all stay safe and keep an eye on the weather. If you get a storm prepare for frequent lightning and very heavy rainfall. Winds could gust to at least 40 mph in storms, but they may get stronger than that if a storm goes severe.
