The National Hurricane Center has now determined that Tropical Storm Dorian is now Hurricane Dorian. The storm is now packing winds of 75 mph and is gaining strength in the very warm waters of the Caribbean. There appears to be no reason for Dorian not to continue strengthening.
Hurricane Dorian is expected to become a very powerful hurricane as it nears the east coast of Florida on Labor Day. However, effects from the storm will be felt far inland, long before the storm’s center makes landfall. Guidance suggest that Dorian will grow in size and intensity, making it especially dangerous for the Florida Peninsula.
I’ll be keeping an eye on it all weekend long!
