Tropical Storm Dorian Update…and it’s not good

The National Hurricane Center just reported that Dorian’s winds are now up to 70 mph. She will likely become a hurricane later today. The hurricane center also issued a much more dire forecast for the east coast of Florida, stating that Dorian could become a major hurricane before making landfall on Labor Day.

This is a big change from yesterday, when it looked like Dorian would strike the east coast of Florida as a strong tropical storm. Now, we may be looking at a very destructive, major hurricane.

Changes with this forecast are likely, so stay tuned.

Below is the latest track map, showing the storm aiming straight for the Space Coast.
