The cold front has passed through the western half of Middle TN, sending temps dropping into the low to mid 50s. Meanwhile, we’re still in the upper 60s and lower 70s across the plateau.
Unfortunately, the showers have been weakening. Hopefully we can still get a little bit of rain. There hasn’t been any lightning detected for several hours now (and none is expected).
One thing you will notice is an increase in northerly winds behind the front. Those could become quite gusty, with speeds up to 25-30 mph. You may hear those winds blowing around leaves, etc when that front comes through.
Saturday is still looking good, with decreasing clouds that will lead to afternoon sunshine. Highs will stay in the 50s for most of us. That will then set the stage for Sunday morning lows in the mid 30s, giving us our first frost.
So, be aware that winds will get a bit gusty behind this front tonight and those winds will be ushering in the coldest air of the season thus far.
You all have a great night!
Below is the current radar, showing scattered showers. The cold front is just west of Carthage at this hour (9:30 p.m.). Notice temps in the low to mid 50s around Nashville.
