Wind Advisory begins at 6:00 p.m.

The NWS in Nashville has issued a WIND ADVISORY that goes into effect at 6:00 pm this evening. The advisory expires at 6:00 am Wednesday. Winds could regularly gust to 20-25 mph, with some gusts topping out at 40 mph overnight. Such winds can break some tree limbs and even cause some sporadic power outages.

We’ve already had one gust of wind on the roof of TAP hit 26 mph. There will be more of that where that came from!

Pictured below is the map issued by the NWS for the wind advisory.

The leading edge of precip is about halfway between Nashville and Memphis at this hour. It should begin arriving here after dark.

Pictured below is the radar at 1:20 pm. The counties outlined in blue are under wind advisories. At this time, none of the storms are severe and no severe thunderstorm activity is expected on the plateau tonight.
