Weather Headlines
–Winter Weather Advisory expires at noon
–Snow shrs will be with us all day
–The next chance for rain arrives Friday
Main threats
Just be careful if you’re out and about this morning. The winter weather advisory is in effect until noon.
Summary
Snow showers and snow flurries should be with us all day. The good news is that temps will hover around, or rise just above freezing, by this afternoon. This should keep main roads in good shape. Skies will gradually clear overnight.
Tuesday through Thursday is looking good.
The next system arrives Friday. This system will be warm enough to be rain showers this go around.
Right now, Saturday is looking good and Sunday is looking pretty good. Clouds will increase by Sunday and there may be a need to add some showers to Sunday’s forecast in later outlooks.

Records
It was wet around here in 1991. By today, Crossville had racked up a three-day rain total of 8.16 inches!
On this day in 1982 a tornado destroyed a home four miles south of Eastwood, Missouri. Thankfully, the owner of the home was not injured in that storm. A replacement mobile home was placed on the same site, to provide the owner some shelter. Unfortunately, a tornado destroyed this mobile home on Christmas Eve of the same year, killing the owner.
In a rare turn of events, I have no comment to add to that story.
Monday Sun Day
This is a new section I’m starting this week! We’ll still have the WxTAP Word of the Day but it will be on Wednesdays. Each day will be a new theme, with Monday’s being interesting sun facts. I hope you enjoy!
Now, for your Monday Sun Day fact!
The Sun is the star at the center of the Solar System. It is the source of all life as we know it. It is, by far, the most important source of energy for life on Earth.
NASA Knowledge
There have been 220 spacewalks to assemble, maintain, and make upgrades to the International Space Station. That’s a lot of space walking!
News
The big news today seems to be the models showing New York City being absolutely slammed with heavy snow this evening. The models are showing the heaviest snowfall being placed right on top of the city during evening rush hour. It will be interesting to see if that verifies!
