–Pesky clouds will finally give way to clearing skies today
–A system to our south will send cloudy skies our way for the weekend.
–Clearer skies and warming temps coming next week
No widespread hazardous weather in sight.
These pesky clouds just will not let go of the plateau. The good side to this is that temps stayed warmer last night than they would have been with clear skies.
Our next weather maker will arrive this weekend. That’s from a system that will skirt along the Gulf Coast. As of now, I think the only thing we’ll get from that system is cloudy skies. If I have to add an isolated shower in later outlooks, I think that would be mainly for anyone south of I-40. Again, right now I think we’ll stay dry.
Skies clear out for next week and warming trend ensues! The bad news is that we’re not going to have a white Christmas. The good news is that holiday travel weather is looking superb for much of the country.
Baldwin’s 7-Day forecast
Normally, Wyoming is very chilly this time of year. Ok, normally they’re bone chilling cold (ha). However, on this day in 1988 they were very warm. Sheridan, Wyoming had a high of 68 degrees. Heck, that sounds good for Tennessee! Incidentally, on that day Sheridan was seven degrees warmer than Key West, Florida.
They’re actually not that cold this week, either. Highs in Sheridan will be the 40s through the weekend. Mark my word, that will change. lol
Wednesday Word of the Day
Ice crystals or granules, sometimes resembling slush, that are formed in turbulent water.
Hey, it’s just fancier than saying there’s ice in the water. ha
I was very excited to have been accepted to another NASA Social yesterday. It’s always so exciting to get accepted to those. It’s for a tour of the facilities at NASA’s Palmdale, California facilities.
While I noticed that is has everything to do with what interests me…..weather and NASA….it’s just too expensive for what it is. It was for a tour of all the facilities, interviews, etc. but it was just for half a day. It’s just too much expense for me right now. My heart says YES, my bank account says NO. (haha).
Fingers crossed for other opportunities, though!
Wx Hazards Across the Nation
Dreaming of a White Christmas? How about a warm and sunny one? No? Well, don’t blame the messenger. lol
Pictured below is the temperature outlook for December 25 through December 31. We could be looking at highs in the 60s here on the plateau.
You all have a great day!
