I GOT IT!!!!

I GOT IT!!!! I just got accepted to the NASA Social for Wallops, Virginia for January 14!!! This is so awesome!!!

This was the application when it went out….

“We are inviting social media users to apply for credentials to cover NASA’s IMPACTS mission before our aircraft take flight to study snow storms off the East Coast of the United States. The behind-the-scenes tour will begin at 9 a.m. EST on Tues., Jan. 14, 2020 at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.

A maximum of 50 active social media users will be selected to attend the event and will be given the same access as news media.

IMPACTS is investigating how snow is distributed throughout storms and what processes in the atmosphere lead to the development of narrow strips of heavy snow called snow bands. Better understanding of the mechanisms of snow band formation and the factors that influence the location of the most intense snowfall will help improve forecasts of these extreme weather events and their observation by satellites in space. This study is the first to take detailed measurements of East Coast snowstorms in 30 years and involves cutting edge instrumentation on NASA’s ER-2 and P-3B research aircraft over the northeastern United States.

NASA Social participants will have the opportunity to:

• Climb aboard and see the inside of several NASA aircraft
• Attend pre-flight meetings alongside the science team
• See the launch of a balloon providing weather data in real time
• Meet and greet with NASA pilots before they depart on flights
• ​Meet members of NASA’s social media teams”
