Important info about the coming rain and wind

With the coming rains, today would be a good day to clean out any culverts you have. In fact, it would be a good idea to take advantage of today’s good weather to clean out any water drainage areas. At least 2-3 inches of rain looks likely by the time this system is through with us, beginning late tonight and ending Saturday night. Some locations could see as much as 4 inches of rain, especially those of you located south of I-40.

One other important note is that winds on Saturday could get quite gusty. I expect north, northwest winds of 15-20 to be common. Higher gusts to 30 mph will be possible. With saturated grounds becoming super saturated by then, shallow-rooted trees may succumb to the winds. Keep that in mind, too.

The latest model data suggests that we could pick up around an inch of snow by Saturday evening. I’m still watching that closely.

You all take care and be sure and enjoy this nice weather today!
