–The next storm system moves in Saturday, with rain and wind
–Turning much colder by Sunday
–Snow flurries are possible Monday night
A return to much colder weather will be a bit of a shock to our system next week. Make sure your outdoor pets are ready.
First of all, it’s good to be back! I have a lot to tell and I’ll share all that later.
For today, look for lots of clouds. We will see some sun but the clouds will enjoy being around today. They’ll enjoy sharing your Friday with you, as well.
Then, the next rain-maker moves in on Saturday. This system is a game-changer, ushering in winter-like air that we haven’t felt in some time. Normally, overnight lows in the teens would be something we would be accustomed to at this point in the season. Not so this year. Make sure you’re ready to bundle up!
A quick-moving system may throw some snow flurries around Monday night. Little to no accumulation is expected at this time, though I will keep an eye on that. The bigger story will certainly be the colder temperatures.
Baldwin’s 7-Day forecast
A surprise snow hit the city of Nashville on this day in 2003. To make matters worse, it hit during morning rush hour. A band of heavy snow developed right on top of the city, something that is nearly impossible to forecast. The seven-inch snowfall was the biggest snow in nearly seven years for Music City. Interstates were paralyzed.
Nearly 70% of the Earth’s fresh water is trapped in glaciers. That’s a lot of fresh water trapped in those suckers! ha
I just have so much to say about this week’s NASA Social. I have learned so much about the IMPACTS mission and I’ll certainly have much to share in the coming days!
