–Light snow continues today
–Both light rain and snow are possible Saturday
–Another big rain maker arrives at the start of our new workweek
Be careful out on area roads this morning. Some of those roads are very slick, especially north of I-40.
Any wintry precip that falls Saturday morning could create more slick spots. Impacts are expected to be minimal.
Another rain maker arrives Monday
Light snow will continue for much of the day. Be careful if you’re out and about. Additional snow accumulation should stay under one half inch.
Then, a weak disturbance passes through on Saturday. Any moisture that falls before noon with be snow flurries/snow showers, any moisture that falls after noon would be sprinkles/light rain shower. There’s just not a lot of moisture to work with and impacts from any frozen precip should be very low, if any. I’ll keep an eye on this and let you know if anything changes.
Sunday is looking pretty good. We should see some sun but clouds will be on the increase as we go through the day. Those clouds are coming ahead of our next rain maker, which will begin on Monday. While we will likely see a lot of rain next week, at least 2-4 inches worth, that rain should be spread out over several days. That will really help with flooding issues. Never the less, the ground is saturated and it won’t take much to cause flooding issues.
Baldwin’s 7-Day forecast
Wx Hazards Across the Nation
On this day in 1861 the temperature at Gouverneur, New York bottomed out at 40 degrees below zero. That was a 70-degree temperature drop in one day! Two days later, they were back in the mid 50s.
I got out and took some pictures of our snow this morning. It sure is pretty!
You all have a great day!
