I just wanted to give you all a quick update on our weather situation. Be careful during your morning commute. We’re liable to have several flooded roads across the county in the morning.
Another push of heavy rain is expected to move across the plateau from about 3:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. in the morning. Another disturbance is headed our way late tonight and that should have no problem kicking up some heavy downpours. I’d look for 1-2 inches of new rainfall in many locations. I’ve already had 1.59″ in my rain gauge from last night and today’s rainfall.
Once the rain moves out in the morning, we should be left with a drier day, with only isolated and scattered showers around. We shouldn’t see the steady rains that we had on our Monday.
Then, more heavy rainfall moves back in for Wednesday afternoon/overnight. The big difference with this rainfall is the potential it carries for strong to severe storms. We’ll have to be weather aware, for sure.
It’s actually looking more likely that the greatest risk for severe weather will come after dark Wednesday. I’ll keep a close eye on this. Why must so many of our storms come after dark?
So, the bottom line is that you need to drive safe and slow in the morning, especially if roads are flooded.
