Snow Update (10:00 pm)

The forecast continues to look on track. It continues to look like light snow will develop in the morning, with up to one inch of snow accumulation during the day, especially for areas along and south of I-40. North of I-40 will be lucky to see much of any accumulation but some of you all may see up to half an inch.

Temps will be hovering around freezing or even rising into the mid 30s during the day.

A winter weather advisory will be considered again by the midnight crew at the NWS Nashville office. It’s beginning to look like they will find that necessary, especially for Cumberland County. I’m not sure Fentress would be included but we’ll see.

The bottom line is that if you have to travel tomorrow you should not expect major travel problems on major thoroughfares. However, I would allow extra time for travel. As always, everyone should be careful on bridges, overpasses, and backroads.

You all stay safe in the morning and tomorrow and keep an eye out for those snow flakes!
