3:45 pm Snow Update; Mixed precip falling now.

I’m seeing snowflakes mixed in with the rain in Crossville now! The temp has now fallen to 35 degrees. That temp will continue to slowly fall as we go through the evening and should be near or below freezing by 6:00 pm.

More snow is showing up on radar at this hour to our northwest. This is associated with a disturbance that will be swinging through. That disturbance will be followed by northwest winds that will kick up more snow showers later tonight.

Snow showers in western Kentucky are moving our way and will be here later this evening. Those will be followed by more snow showers later on that develop from northwest winds interacting with the plateau.

As I’ve said all along, I would just try to be home when it gets dark. It’s going to be cold and windy and snowy. Why not just be home with some hot chocolate in a warm house? haha

You all be safe if you must be out tonight. Temps are still slowly falling and they will fall all the way down to the low to mid 20s tonight. That is plenty cold enough for some slick spots on roads. Plus, with all the rain pre-treatment of roads wasn’t possible.

I’ll keep tracking it all for you all!

Again, the temp here in Crossville is now 35 degrees. The temp is still 37 degrees in Cookeville. Northwest winds are currently gusting to 15 mph. Brrrr Those gusts will pick up as we go through the evening hours.
