3:20 pm Snow Update; Winter Wx Advisory

WHAT: Light snow

WHEN: Friday morning

HOW MUCH: Up to one inch, with localized amounts up to 2″ possible

The National Weather Service in Nashville has now issued a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for the Cumberland Plateau for Friday morning. This is the lowest of the winter weather advisory categories, but it implies that their could be some hazardous travel in the morning. Be careful if you must be out.

It looks like there will be enough moisture to whiten the plateau with snow in the morning! I’ve always felt like this was a better shot at snow than what we had yesterday and last night.

The advisory goes into effect at 4:00 a.m. and affects the counties outlined in blue on the map below. The advisory expires at noon but that may get extended. Stay tuned.
