More tranquil weather

Weather Headlines

Showers return for Thursday

A beautiful weekend ahead

Next rain system arrives early next week

Main threats

No widespread hazardous weather in sight.

We’ll see another nice day today. We deserve this break, right?

Tonight, clouds increase ahead of our next system. This system is very weak and will only offer some light rain showers. These showers will be mainly south of I-40. Those of you north of I-40 may just see clouds. Rainfall amounts for anyone should stay under one quarter inch.

Then, temps cool off and the stage is set for a string of nice days that takes us right into the weekend.

The next storm system arrives early next week, with more rain and some rumbles of thunder.

Baldwin’s 7-Day forecast

Wx Hazards Across the Nation

The main headline this morning is the severe weather in the Deep South. Severe t-storm, tornado, and flood watches cover that region this morning. Activity is moving eastward. Southern Texas has fire weather warnings because the wildfire danger is high there. The same is true for parts of Nebraska and Kansas. Low humidity and gusty winds are fueling that danger. Meanwhile, high winds are expected across Montana and New England.

President Taft was inaugurated on this day in 1909. The weather forecast called for fair skies and cool temperatures; a rather pleasant day.

It snowed 10 inches and travel was nearly impossible.

Sadly, my NASA Social to see Orion has been bumped into next week. That makes it nearly impossible for me to go now. That’s ok, though, as I’m sure I’ll see that sucker sooner than later. I hope to see it someday and I’m sure luck will come my way again.

I’m at Crossville Christian Academy this morning to talk some science! This is also part of Read Across America week. I have some cool things to share with them. Wish me well!

You all have a great day!
