Next week looking unsettled

Main threats

No significant threats in sight.

Summary

We’ll see lots of clouds this morning, along with a passing flurry for some of us. Then, by afternoon the sun should be making some appearances. Those skies should clear by tonight. Unfortunately, breezy conditions today will make it feel much cooler.

Those clearer skies will be with us through the weekend. Temperatures will also warm considerably, making for a pleasant weekend.

By Monday, clouds will be on the increase and that will lead to rain developing Monday night. That rain and unsettled weather will be with us through next week, along with mild temperatures.

Records

On this day in 1954 in snowed across parts of Florida! In fact, today is the anniversary of the biggest snowfall ever recorded in that state. That total was 4.1 inches in the panhandle of Florida. Pensacola recorded their second highest snowfall total ever that day when they measured 2.1 inches.

NASA Knowledge

The NASA Social for the viewing of the Orion capsule in Sandusky, Ohio ended up cancelling. I’ve never seen that happen before with a NASA Social. Hopefully, all is well with Orion.

News

Some of you may have seen my Facebook post yesterday, but for those who didn’t I’ll share here. My grandfather passed away Thursday morning in his sleep. He was 89. Please remember my family in your prayers in the coming days. The service will be Sunday at 3:00 at Clarkrange United Methodist Church. Family will receive friends from 1-3:00. Burial will follow in the Clarkrange cemetery there at the church.

Pa and Granny celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary last month.
