The Storm Prediction Center, in their 11:30 am update, has expanded the marginal risk for severe storms a bit more. It now includes Putnam, Overton, and Fentress Counties. It’s so close to us in Cumberland that we might as well just assume we’re in that risk, as well. Plus, with sun peaking through and a break in the rain, our atmosphere is just as unstable as anyone else’s.
The risk for severe weather is low but it’s not zero. There’s even the risk for brief tornado spin-up, thought that risk is very low. Still, with ANY risk we have to be weather-aware.
I’ll keep an eye on things.
Showers and thunderstorms are making their way into the Nashville area right now and will be arriving here later this afternoon. Hopefully, storms will behave themselves.

It actually looks like the bulk of the rain will miss Crossville this go around, with only the threat of a passing shower (at any time). After sunset, we should see a bit better rain chances with activity out in West TN coming our way.
