I just wanted to give a quick update on the storms that will come through here on Tuesday. Our area remains outlined in a regional risk for severe storms on Tuesday.
A warm front will lift north across the area the first half of the day. This will bring a round of showers and storms, some of which could be severe. Warm fronts tend to bring a heightened hail threat. In addition, damaging winds could be a threat. The tornado threat with this front should stay on the low side.
Then, the cold front will begin making its way toward us for the second half of the day. A squall line of strong to severe storms is expected to develop out in West Tennessee and track eastward. All modes of severe weather will be possible with this line, including isolated tornadoes. The tornado threat is higher in the evening with this squall line.
I’ll be keeping a close eye on all of this and I’ll update you with any new information that comes along. I would make sure to keep this rough weather in mind if you have any travel plans for Tuesday.
