Weather Headlines

Severe storms threaten today, with all modes of severe weather possible

The warmest air of the season is expected Thursday and Friday

Severe storms threaten Saturday, with all modes of severe weather possible

Main threats

Strong to severe storms could produce heavy rainfall, large hail, and even an isolated tornado across the plateau this afternoon and evening. Stay weather-aware. I’ll post updates through the day, about every two hours or as needed.

Strong to severe storms may threaten our region again on Saturday, with all hazards possible.

Summary

We’ll see a very unsettled day across the plateau with our weather. A warm front this morning will produce showers and storms. Some of the storms could produce hail and gusty winds.

The greater threat arrives this afternoon and evening. Once again, hail will be a threat. However, an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. At this time, the greatest threat looks to be for Putnam and Cumberland Counties and points south.

Drier and much warmer weather moves in for Wednesday and Thursday. Right now, Friday even looks to be dry, though showers may move in overnight.

More storms will arrive on Saturday and they could pack another punch to the area.
