Weather Headlines

Sunny and warm days are here! Get outside!

Rain and storms Saturday night

Cooler and unsettled early next week

Main threats

Some of the storms Saturday night could contain gusty winds and heavy downpours. Widespread severe weather is not expected.

Another storm system will bring rain and storms on Tuesday. At this time, severe weather does not look to be a threat.

We’ll see sunshine and warmer temperatures today! Make sure you get outside.

Tomorrow looks good, as well, though there will be more clouds around. Never the less, I think it’s certainly possible we’ll get very close to or touch the 80-degree mark! How nice that will feel!

I think we’ll get away with a nice Saturday, for the most part. The first half of the day certainly looks dry and I think the second half will just be cloudy and warm. The rain and storms should hold off until after dark. Those storms are not expected to bring widespread severe weather.

We should see that system quickly clear out on Sunday, likely setting us up for a nice conclusion to the weekend. All in all, the weekend looks good, with most of the rain coming in the overnight hours Saturday.

The next system arrives Tuesday bringing more rain and thunder. That system will usher in some chilly air. The highest peaks of the Smoky Mountains may even see snow showers on Wednesday, April Fool’s Day!

Baldwin’s 7-Day forecast

Wx Hazards Across the Nation

It’s a rather quiet day across the country. Some rain and storms will be found from Kansas to New England. Some of those storms could be strong in Kansas and Missouri. Otherwise, just more mountain snows out west.

A  historic snow and ice storm struck northern and central Georgia on this day in 1971. That is unusual for a storm to be that far south this late in the season! The snow and ice were the worst they had seen since a 1935 winter storm affected the area. Two people were killed when an icy limb fell on their car. Poultry hatcheries lost over two million eggs because of extended power outages.

Thirsty Thursday

Both a jellyfish and cucumber are about 95% water. The human brain is 70% water.

Make sure you get outside and stargaze tonight. The sky was absolutely beautiful last night. The Moon is nearly at its new stage, making the sky so very dark. Get out and look up! I may send out a reminder later today about this.

You all have a great day!
