2:00 Saturday Update On Tonight’s Storms

WHAT: Strong to severe t-storms

WHEN: midnight to 3:00 a.m.

The Storm Prediction Center is issuing mesoscale discussions for areas well to our west at this hour (red circled areas). If you’ll recall in previous blogs, these discussions are often issued prior to watches being issued. These discussions will be replaced by tornado watches as we go into this afternoon.

I’ll be tracking these storms as they move east overnight. I’m keeping a close eye on this weather and I’ll post updates, as needed.

FYI…I just returned from Catoosa Wildlife Management Area to take pictures of the tornado damage there from our tornado earlier this month. It is impressive. I will have pictures later to share. The tornado definitely strengthened significantly after moving eastward out of Rinnie. Until now, Catoosa was closed off to traffic to protect wildlife.

I’ll be watching our weather closely through the evening and overnight.
