Main threats
The main threat in this forecast period is the likelihood of frost Thursday morning. Keep this in mind if you have tender plants outside.
Summary
We’ll see partly to mostly cloudy skies today, ahead of our next storm system. The good news is that this is a colder system and tomorrow’s rain will be quite chilly. We may not even get out of the 40s tomorrow! While that makes for a chilly, raw day we don’t have any worries of severe weather. Rainfall amounts should add up to 0.5-0.75 inches.
Then, things look good through Friday. Our next system may arrive sometime late Saturday. That system looks a bit weak and I’m not worried about storms with that system at this time.

Wx Hazards Across the Nation
More unsettled weather for the lower Mississippi River Valley today, with heavy rainfall and the possibility for some strong to severe storms. Meanwhile, wintry weather can be found in the Northeast today (in light amounts), while a much more substantial winter storm moves into the Pacific Northwest.
Records
A storm of historic proportions came to end on this day in 1899 in Ruby, Colorado. By the winter storm ended, 141 inches of snow had fallen on that town! Ruby is an old mining town in the Elk Mountain Range.
Monday Sun Day
Four million tons of hydrogen are consumed by the sun every second, which helps to create the sun’s composition of 75 percent hydrogen, 23 percent helium, and 2 percent heavier elements.
Hydrogen is the most abundant in the universe and the lightest one on our periodic chart of the elements.

I have only two days left to get may astronaut application in! haha The deadline to apply is March 31. I’ll keep ya posted!
NEWS
I plan to accompany the NWS in their storm surveys today. I’ll keep you all posted! An official survey by the NWS will determine what, if any, damage was from a tornado. It will also determine the magnitude of the straight-line winds.
