Storms are now moving through the Cookeville area, headed east. They’re not looking too terribly bad at this point. The warnings are a bit south of our area but that could change at any moment. I’m seeing lightning on the western horizon now and it’s becoming more frequent. A severe t-storm watch remains in effect until 5:00 am, but it will likely be cancelled much earlier than that for us. After this initial batch of storms moves through, we should stabilize. I’ll keep an eye on that, though. That storm out ahead of the line, south of Sparta, is one to watch. Those lone cells are always a concern. That storm is moving southeast toward Bledsoe county and extreme southwestern Cumberland County. The threat is looking less ominous for those of you in Fentress County. Still, let’s not let our guard down.
