12:20 pm Storm Update

The strongest storms are now pushing out of the county. As soon as they moved into the the Morristown NWS forecast area they issued severe t-storm warnings on them. Nashville didn’t feel a warning was necessary in southern Cumberland County but those storms sure looked intense on radar.

I’m hearing reports of power outages across various parts of the county. The wind got very gusty here in Rinnie and I could hear it really roaring just up the road. I’m not surprised to hear of some trees down.

There are more storms well to our west but this batch of storms should have gone a long way in stabilizing our atmosphere. Still, I’ll keep an eye on those West Tn storms.

The severe t-storm watch remains in effect until 5:00 am. It may be dropped early but I’m not ready to call that just yet.

If you have a weather radio you can go to bed. Just make sure it’s on. I’m not 100% convinced the storms out in West TN will dodge us but I’ll look at that some more here in a minute. I just wanted to make sure you all knew we are finished with this round, though there are still some heavy downpours, gusty winds, and cloud to ground lightning still left out there. The West TN storms should be here between 3:00 – 5:00 am.

I’ll post another update within the hour on those West TN storms.
