The severe t-storm watch has just been cancelled! That is wonderful news and news I was hoping to have to report in this update.
This first batch of storms may have been rough but they were actually a Godsend. This second line coming into western Middle TN was the main line we were worrying about. However, this batch of storms formed out ahead of it and helped stabilize the atmosphere. This batch formed and pushed east before the upper-level ingredients had fully come together. Now, we are quite stable and storms are really struggling along the cold front. That is good news!
It is safe to go to bed. Don’t be surprised if you hear some thunder later and hear rain falling. That is the cold front that will be coming through. With the NWS dropping our watch, that just reassures me that our threat has passed.
