6:10 Storm Update

Storms continue to cross the plateau but they remain below severe limits. That is good! Could that change before they get out of the county? Yes. However, our atmosphere appears to be stabilizing somewhat, which is good news. Never the less, let’s remain weather aware for at least another hour.

Current radar doesn’t look to bad. Storms seem to have weakened as they climbed the plateau. Other storms to our west are producing heavy rainfall but there are no warnings at this time.

I’m dropping my level of concern down to “low”. I can’t speak for the Storm Prediction Center, but I’m thinking our tornado watch will be dropped before it officially expires at 9:00. I also don’t agree with a tornado watch. I think a severe t-storm watch would have made more sense (for what it’s worth. ha). I think the Carthage tornado led them to believe we were more unstable than what we are.

I’ll keep an eye on things and let’s stay weather aware.
