Widespread hazardous weather is not expected over the next seven days at this time, but some storms early next week could be rather intense. The Storm Prediction Center will likely add our area to at least the marginal risk for severe storms for Tuesday. I’ll keep you posted.

Today: Partly cloudy, hot and humid. Only a slight risk for an afternoon shower/storm.
Sunday: Partly to mostly cloudy, with a chance for showers/storms, mainly in the afternoon/evening.
Monday – Wednesday: Scattered showers and storms, especially in the afternoon/evening.
Thursday – Friday: Back to mainly afternoon/evening isolated to scattered thunderstorms.
Baldwin’s Hay Day Forecast
Today is the last good hay weather day for some time, folks. Try to get as much of that hay worked today as you can. By tomorrow, the pattern begins to evolve and we may see some storms across the plateau as early as lunchtime. Those should be isolated to scattered but they should be around. A storm system will bring much better rain chances by early next week. By the end of the week, we’re back to afternoon/evening type storms.

A risk for a severe storm or two exists in a narrow corridor of the northern plains today. There is also a risk for heavy rainfall across southern Oklahoma.

Wx Hazards Across the Nation
A widespread, potentially significant, severe weather outbreak is possible across the central and southern plains on Sunday. All modes of severe weather will be possible.

Severe storms will once again threaten parts of the central US. The main threat may be heavy rainfall across northern Oklahoma and southern Kansas.
Records
A severe thunderstorm produced golfball-sized hail in Fentress County on this day in 1997. This is the largest official hail to have ever fallen in that county.
