Today: Morning rain, followed by a sunnier afternoon

Wednesday: A slight chance for a shower or storm, otherwise partly cloudy

Thursday – Friday: Partly cloudy, with only a very slim chance for a shower or storm.

Saturday – Sunday: Continued partly cloudy and mostly dry, with only slim chances for an afternoon storm.

Monday: Storm chances increase a bit, otherwise partly cloudy and hot-n- humid.

After this morning’s rain, skies will clear out and become partly to mostly sunny by afternoon. By tomorrow, only a chance for an afternoon storm remains. Most of us stay dry.

Then, we get on a streak of good hay days! Thursday through Saturday look great, with only very slim chances for an isolated storm on the plateau. Most of us stay dry. By Sunday, storm chances increase just a bit, as heat and humidity increase. Those storm chances increase a bit more by Monday.

The National Hurricane Center continues to monitor an area of low pressure out in the Atlantic. The system still has a chance for becoming a tropical storm today. Regardless, the depression will stay out to sea and continue moving away from the United States.

Severe storms will threaten eastern New Mexico today, while heavy rainfall will threaten western sections of Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Another area of heavy rainfall will threaten the eastern coast of Texas. Possible Tropical Storm Dolly can be found out at sea on the far right.

Records

On this day in 1957 a severe hailstorm that produced softball-sized hail caught farm laborers out in the fields and unable to seek shelter near Stockton, Texas. Twenty-one people had to be treated for injuries. Some livestock in the fields were killed.

Long Range Outlook 

A warmer and perhaps wetter pattern will emerge for the final days of June and into the beginning of July.
