As rain and thunder moves across the plateau at this hour, I wanted to let you all know that the latest update from the Storm Prediction Center indicates that our severe weather threat has decreased for the day. In fact, you folks in Fentress and Overton Counties were removed from the marginal risk. Now, Putnam and Cumberland and areas to our south are all that remain in the marginal risk.
Keep in mind that the marginal risk just means there is a chance for an isolated severe t-storm.
Some of the rainfall is on the heavy side, so be careful if you’re out and about this afternoon.
Current radar shows lots of rain and thunder across the plateau this afternoon.
