Threats

Widespread severe is not expected over the next seven days. However, any storm that develops could become quite intense, with gusty winds (briefly severe?), heavy rainfall, and deadly cloud-to-ground lightning. Just keep an eye to the skies (and radar!). Remember, if you can hear it thunder, you’re close enough to be struck by lightning.

Tropics

Yesterday, all was quiet. Now, we have a system to watch off the Southeast Coast. This system has spun up fast and will likely become our next named storm within the next few days. The good news is that it is moving out to sea and away from the US. If named, this system will be Edouard.
