Friday evening storm update (9:05 pm)

I’ve had several people ask about the storms this evening and I thought I would do a quick update. We are experiencing another uptick in t-storm activity across the plateau at this hour. These storms are not severe and are not expected to become severe. They should end by midnight.

If you’re out and about this evening, be careful if you must drive through heavy rainfall. These storms are capable of producing lots of rain in a short period of time. I picked up nearly three inches of rain at my house today in just a little over an hour!

On another note….

Hurricane Hunters are investigating Tropical Storm Hanna right now and are surprised to find the storm organizing and strengthening so quickly. It’s not out of the question that they will soon upgrade Hanna to the first hurricane of the 2020 season. The storm will make landfall in Texas Saturday afternoon. I’ll keep you posted.

Incidentally, I snapped this pic over Crossville this evening. It’s a laughing elf, right? (ha)

You all have a good evening!
