On this day in 1954 Washington’s Mount Rainier still had 16 inches of snow at an elevation as low as 5, 500. The snow was left over from the incredible snow season from the winter before!

Long Range Outlook

A cooler and drier pattern continues to evolve for the end of next week (Aug 6 – 10).

NASA Nerdology

Remember these two guys? We watched them launch into space a couple months ago on the first commercially built spacecraft. Now, they begin preparations to return home! They undock this evening from the International Space Station and they will splash down in the ocean Sunday afternoon at 1:42 CDT. Keep in mind that you can watch and track it all at http://www.nasa.gov! We wish these gentlemen a safe trip home.
