Friday Afternoon Wx Update

WHAT: Strong To Severe Storms

WHEN: After 3:00 Friday through Midnight

The latest info from the Storm Prediction Center places our area back in the slight risk for severe storms for this evening and overnight. This is a bit of an upgrade from the marginal risk that we were at earlier this morning. Never the less, the severe threat is still on the lower end of the scale, but we certainly can’t let our guard down too much.

My concern is unchanged from this morning. I still think this will be a low-end event. Never the less, just stay weather aware this evening.

A band of storms is now nearing the Nashville area and some of those storms have been severe. We’ll track those eastward, and watch for additional storms that may develop ahead of this batch of storms. I still expect about 1-2 inches of rain to fall between now and Saturday night. Keep in mind winds will be gusty tonight too, sometimes topping 30 or more mph.

You all take care. I’ll keep an eye on things.
