Hazardous weather is not expected over the next 7 days.
Baldwin’s Severe Weather Concern

Baldwin’s 7-Day forecast

Daily Forecast
Today: Mostly cloudy, with a slight chance for a shower or sprinkle.
Thursday: Mostly cloudy, with showers likely. A rumble of thunder possible too.
Friday: Mostly cloudy, with a chance for showers.
Saturday – Tuesday: Partly cloudy, with a chance of showers each day.
Today’s Choice of Outdoor Activity
Yard work! If you still need to clean off your garden, or rake a few leaves, or just do some general yard maintenance, today is the day! Plus, you’ll be getting it ready for a drink of water tomorrow.
Baldwin’s Hay Day Forecast
After today, unsettled weather settles in for a while. We’ll have a slim chance for a shower today, but most of us stay dry. Tomorrow, the remnants of Beta move in, especially south of I-40. After that, an unsettled pattern will bring the threat for a shower each day. If you don’t get your fall hay in this week, next week is looking drier and cooler!

Almanac

Yesterday’s National High and Low Temperature
High: 110° at Death Valley, California
Low: 22° at both Whitefield, New Hampshire and Jackman, Maine.
Tropics
Things have really quietened down in the tropics! All I have to share is the projected rainfall from the remnants of Beta. The National Hurricane Center forecasts much of that rain to stay south of our area, but we should see several showers sneak up here, especially south of I-40.

Today’s Wx Hazards Across the Nation
It’s a rather quiet day across the nation, with the exception of heavy downpours from “Beta” across the Lower Mississippi River Valley.

Tomorrow’s Wx Hazards Across the Nation
The remnants of Beta continue to bring heavy rainfall to the Southeast. Notice more snowflakes flying across parts of the Pacific Northwest (blue-shaded areas).

On This Day
On this day in 1815, one of the greatest hurricanes to strike New England made landfall at Long Island and crossed Massachusetts and New Hampshire. It was the worst tempest in nearly two hundred years, equal to the hurricane which struck in 1938, and one of a series of severe summer and autumn storms to affect shipping lanes that year.
Long Range Outlook
Next week is looking drier and quite chilly for us! Those below-normal temps are bulls-eyeing Tennessee! Much of the country looks dry.

Weather Shot
This is an incredible image captured by the GOES-16 satellite. Notice the big storm off the coast of the Northeast US. That was Hurricane Teddy. Notice the front that extends south of him and back to Beta in the western Gulf. Hurricane Teddy has transitioned into an extra-tropical cyclone at this point, meaning he is no longer tropical in structure and now has fronts attached to him. Tropical systems don’t have fronts. A cool pic, right?

NASA Nerdology
Yesterday things got a little tense on the International Space Station for a while. A piece of debris, possibly “space junk” was spotted headed toward the station, or at least to the vicinity of the station. The astronauts carried out the emergency protocols, sealing off unnecessary rooms and moving the station to a different altitude. The debris passed safely by and things are back to normal on the station.

You all have a great day!
